    Abstract
    "The development of an Integrated Hazardous Waste Management Strategy (IHWMS) was first identified in the 2006 Arctic Council Ministerial declaration (Salekhard): Encourage cooperation between ACAP and the Russian Federation to develop an Integrated Hazardous Waste Management Strategy which will accelerate progress of ACAP Projects in the Arctic. The IHWMS was also welcomed in the 2009 Arctic Council Ministerial declaration (Tromsø): Welcome the Integrated Hazardous Waste Management Strategy in the Northern Regions of the Russian Federation, note its potential importance for the other parts of the Arctic, and support its implementation with the aim to ensure environmentally sound management, destruction and storage of hazardous waste," /.../
