Vorkuta Cement Plant (VCP) is the onl cement producing facility in the Republic of Komi RF. The facility is located above the Arctic Circle, 25 km north of the town of Vorkuta, in a permafrost zone and the surrounding land is thus not used for any agricultural purposes.
The objective of this work is to demonstrate possibilities ot implement environmentally sound and economically effective projects in Russia within the framework of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).
