    Abstract
1 October 2020: The Arctic Council’s AMSP 2015-2025 was negotiated to articulate how the Council can increase understanding of the impacts of human activities, climate change and ocean acidification on the Arctic marine environment and livelihood of Arctic communities. The four Strategic Actions, and forty-two Goals provide a comprehensive framework to guide actions to protect Arctic marine and coastal ecosystems, and to promote sustainable development. The Arctic Council Working Groups (WGs) have been mandated to implement the strategy through ongoing coordination and cooperation with Arctic States, government agencies, local communities, and relevant international and regional actors. Implementation is promoted through a communication plan lead by PAME with the objective to support understanding and involvement of the AMSP by the Arctic Council.
