This report to the Arctic Council’s Sustainable Development Working Group (SDWG) outlines the key activities and accomplishments of the Arctic Council’s multi-year pan-Arctic project, Arctic Indigenous Languages Vitality Initiative from 2013 to February 2015. The project’s genesis lies in the recognition by the indigenous peoples organisations of the Arctic Council, the Permanent Participants, of the need for an indigenous-driven project to assess, monitor and promote the vitality of the indigenous languages found across the Arctic.en_US
