Abstract
Under the CBMP, there are several species monitoring networks. CAFF proposed that one of the networks monitor Rangifer populations and the human interactions with this important resource. After a number of small, preliminary meetings the Rangifer network, officially called the CARMA Network (CircumArctic Rangifer Monitoring and Assessment Network), was launched at an international meeting in Vancouver, Canada in November 2004.
