| dc.description.abstract | This prospectus outlines the process and appropriate actions (including specific products) to gain a greater depth of understanding of the many drivers of change, their connectivity, and cumulative effects on Arctic ecosystems and populations. Such understanding will be critical for the development of policies and management actions that will allow Arctic communities and societies to respond and adapt to these changes. The ACA will provide a foundation upon which the Arctic Council, the Member States and Permanent Participants, local and regional authorities can determine actions they wish to take in response to changing conditions in the Arctic. This initiative has been developed on the basis of in-depth discussions among 110 Arctic experts at an Arctic Change Scoping Workshop from all Arctic Council Working Groups (AC WGs) and representatives of a number of key Arctic stakeholders (see Annex 1 for the history of this initiative). | en_US |
