Chemicals of Emerging Arctic Concern; Summary for Policy-makers

Abstract

AMAP's initial assessments of these issues in 1997 contributed significantly to the negotiation of international agreements, such as the 'UNECE's Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP) Protocol on Persistent Organic Pollutants' and the 'Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants', to restrict and phase out the use of these chemicals on a regional and global scale.
