The Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program (CBMP) is the Arctic biodiversity monitoring program of the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF), the biodiversity working group of the Arctic Council. Through their network of scientists, Indigenous Knowledge holders, Indigenous organisations, and conservation groups, the CBMP coordinates, collects and synthesises existing monitoring data from the Arctic States. The reports produced by CAFF-CBMP are designed to assist policy- and decision-making at the global, national, regional and local levels. The CBMP thereby plays a key role in supporting CAFF’s mandate to address the conservation of Arctic biodiversity, communicate findings to the governments and residents of the Arctic, and promote practices that ensure the sustainability of the Arctic’s living resources. CBMP-Coastal is one of four CBMP working groups under CAFF and is chaired by Canada and the U.S.en_US
